So, here are the ingredients for the authentic homemade restaurant style tomato soup.

Ingredients

Tomatoes 4
Beetroot 50 grams
Potato Onion each1 (medium size)
Butter 1 tbsp
Ginger ½ inch(chopped)
Bay leaf 1 large
Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder ½ tsp
Cumin powder ½ tsp
Sugar ½ tsp
Salt to taste
 Fresh cream

Method-

To make this authentic restaurant style tomato soup at home,

First heat up a pressure cooker, add 1 tbsp butter, to this goes a bay leaf with a medium sized onion chopped roughly, then to this add a half inch ginger and sauté it slightly. Now, its time to add the tomatoes and potato, now the reason behind adding the potato is to increase the thickness of the soup also it gives it a good richness and increases the quantity  and beetroot which will give the tomato soup a good natural red color just like we get it in restaurants, cook all of these for a while, once the veggies get soft add 2 cups of water bring it to boil and then pressure cook it for 2 whistles.

After you get 2 whistles put off the flame and keep it aside for 2 minutes then take off the lid and drain all the water from the veggies and do not throw the stock away, because we’ll need it later.

Once the veggies are all cooled, take mixer, to this add all the materials drained and do not forget to remove the bay leaf as we’ve already got its flavor in the stock, now add some of the stock to the mixer and blend all of them finely. Make sure that the  blended mixer should neither be too thick nor be too flowy, the consistency should be in between, after the blend is done just sift out all the hard and unblended portions from the soup, now take a deep pan heat it up and add the soup mixer to the pan and  add some more  stock so as to help the tomato soup to cook properly to this now add the black pepper powder, some cumin powder, 2 tbsp of good quality tomato ketchup to give the soup a tangy flavor, some sugar to give it a slit sweetness then finally goes some salt to taste.

Now, put a lid on top and cook it for good 5- 6 minutes on low flame so that all the spices and extras that we have added to the soup would  nicely blend in it, but  make sure that there is enough water other wise you may get your soup burnt. After that, just put off the flame, now this step is completely optional if you want you can add some fresh cream to the soup to give it a good creamy texture and richness also, it will improve the soup’s thickness, as I told you earlier that it is optional, if you want to keep your soup natural and a bit flowy consistency then just avoid it.

But, if you’re adding the cream then add it once the flame is off and do not mix it vigorously just slightly fold the soup into it, and now your restaurant style homemade tomato soup is ready to serve.

P.S: do add some croutons to your soup as its crunch on every slurp would be heaven on earth.

So, do try this recipe hope you love it and do comment your reactions below.

Happy cooking😋
